As I stood on the windswept shores of La Palma, the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean like a fiery ball of light, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. This was my first time visiting the Canary Islands, a archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa that has been on my bucket list for years.
